I have searched for a long time for all these video and computer gaming websites. More often than not they are hard to find, because most do not rank high in the search engines if they are even listed. Even directories do not have all the answers. I have exhaustively searched the major engines and directories. Some developers do not currently have their own site and then I have to track down their parent or partner company, if they have one. Whatever the case, I will put up every gaming company that I find, whether or not they are on the Internet. I am determined that this page be as complete as possible.
My ideal video game website formed in 1998 when I was sick of not getting all the Information from the Web that I wanted, much of which was available in magazines. So, I wrote down every site, company, and person I could find and started listing there here. It's light years from pretty or useful, but it's a start, a really slow start. I'm sure I came up with a few other categories over the years, but I don't know where they are right now.
Current and Possible Future Categories: Arcades (around the country, cabinets), Auctions/Classifieds (users Amazon and eBay listings), Challenges, Cheats/FAQs, Contests, Creatives/Industry People, Developers, Downloads (My own game if I ever get a chance to make one, Internet games, game sites like Pogo and Kongregate, XBox Live, PSN), Editorial (probably in blog form), Events (E3, PAX, Digital Life, tournaments), Forums, Games (List of all games), Games You Need, How To's (game design, breaking into the industry, tutorials - user created and voted), Jobs (Break into the industry with job listings from companies or job sites, or put together your own team from this site: work on a game here and see how you gel), Media (Magazines and Shows - TV and online: XPlay, The Tech TV Team [Laporte Report, Locker Gnome, Cat Schwartz]), Meet Other Gamers, News (RSS feeds?), Publishers, Other Media You Need (Movies, Music, TV, cool sites, books, unrelated magazines such as EW, anime, manga), Records (there are sites like this already, but users could possibly contribute their own), Release Dates, Reviews, Schools, Stores (Amazon, Gamestop, price comparisons?), Trading (here or Goozex), User Game Stories (embarrassing or awesome things you did), User Blogs (probably not free, so only the people who are serious contribute, everyone else can use the forums), User Ideas (maybe only if we're publishers looking for something new, all ideas copyright original posters, would help get people together to make the game), Videos (new games, user created, game makers), Voting (Best games, what you'd like to see)
